Sharks Swim Near South Florida Shore

by in Featured, Marinelife

Video has been released of thousands of sharks swimming about 50 yards from the shore near the Boca Raton Inlet.

The area, known as shark ledge, is a popular diving spot known for its population of Caribbean reef sharks and other sea life.

Biologists say sharks typically migrate this time of year to warmer waters and that the gathering is actually a good sign. The shark population has been declining since the 1970s.  They say the mass congregation shows the numbers may be bouncing back.
