Orangutan mama Rosa was photographed holding her tiny baby at the zoo in Frankfurt, Germany on 20 December 2012.
Born on November 30th, the three-week-old orangutan baby has become the newest star at the Frankfurt Zoo.
Named Sayang, Indonesian for “darling,” the little cutie has stayed attached to its mother since birth, making it impossible to determine if it’s a boy or girl.
“The baby has light grey hair, which is a bit unusual for orangutan babies, but typical for Rosa’s offspring,” said zoo director Manfred Niekisch in a statement this week.
Sayang is the fourth child of the 23-year-old orangutan female. Its father Charly has also been prolific over the past 50 years: he already has two great-grandchildren.
