Scientists Discover 126 New Species in Greater Mekong

The Greater Mekong region spanning Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and the southern province of Yunnan in China is a biodiversity hotspot teeming with wildlife. According to a new WWF report scientists discovered 126 new species in the region in 2011.


New Protected Area Designated for Uncommon Asian Unicorn

A rare creature known as the Saola and more commonly known as the Asian unicorn is all set to get more protection for its habitat at the lush, green mountainous regions of Vietnam near the Vietnam-Laos border. This elusive animal was not discovered until 1992.
