Vacationers Look On As Miami Beach Ocean Rescue Saves A Nurse Shark

by Cathy December 20, 2011 in Featured, Marinelife 911

Holiday vacationers got a bit of a surprise yesterday as they witnessed Miami Beach Ocean Rescue save a nurse shark after it was washed ashore on South Beach.

Surrounded by onlookers, the ocean rescue team pulled the shark onto the beach to examine it before rolling it back into the surf. Though not generally perceived as a threat to humans, nurse sharks have been reported in some unprovoked attacks.
